Children of Life's Destruction. Doomed Youth are an American punk rock/crossover thrash metal band that began in Colorado in the early 2000’s. Formed by brothers Chris and Jon Heffernan they recruited future Clusterfux bassist Joe Piker. Their early influences were mostly UK ‘82 bands like the Skeptix and the Exploited; their sound was traditional street punk.

Anthems for Doomed Youth is the third studio album by English garage rock band The Libertines, released on 11 September 2015. The album contains two notable literary references, the tracks "Anthem for Doomed Youth" and "Gunga Din" referencing poems of the same titles by Wilfred Owen and Rudyard Kipling respectively. Gunga Din" was released as the album's first single on 2 July 2015. The album's second single, "Glasgow Coma Scale Blues", was released on 20 August 2015.

Musically speaking, Anthems for Doomed Youth is also more mature; lead single "Gunga Din" trades in slow-burning reggae-punk that is more considered and contemplative - at least before it catches fire at the end - than much of what the Libertines have done before. At times, the album sounds surprisingly tame, thanks in part to Jake Gosling's manicured production; that the Libertines chose a former One Direction collaborator is another reminder of how far removed they are from the early 2000s, when they worked with Mick Jones

Anthem for Doomed Youth. What passing-bells for these who die as cattle? - Only the monstrous anger of the guns. Can patter out their hasty orisons. No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells; Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs,- The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells; And bugles calling for them from sad shires. What candles may be held to speed them all? Not in the hands of boys, but in their eyes. Shall shine the holy glimmers of goodbyes. More About This Poem. Anthem for Doomed Youth.
