The Time Warp Lyrics. Riff-Raff: It's astounding Time is fleeting Madness takes its toll But listen closely. Magenta: Not for very much longer.

The Time Warp" is a song featured in the 1973 rock musical The Rocky Horror Show and in its 1975 film adaptation The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and a 2016 TV production, as well as a dance performed during the chorus of the song. The song is both an example and a parody of the dance song genre in which much of the content of the song is given over to dance step instructions. The dance is one of the major on activities during screenings of the film and performances of the show

The story goes that the idea for TW2K came from a meeting between Richard O'Brien and the president of Oglio Records (who was already involved in the US release of Absolute O'Brien). After a good bit of wine, he told Richard that what we needed was a Time Warp for the new millenium (it being 1999 at the time). So after getting back home to England, Richard O'Brien and his son Linus came up with these tracks.
