The Beta Band disbanded in 2004 Contents. It was released on 24 January 2000. The single was received favourably and was regarded as a return to form for the band. The band began demo sessions for their third album in September 2002. They entered the studio with producer Tom Rothrock in 2003 and completed a number of tracks; however, neither the band nor the Regal executives were pleased with the results. Producer Nigel Godrich was called in to mix the album, which was finally completed in early 2004. Lead single, "Assessment", was released on 12 April 2004, followed by the album Heroes to Zeros on 26 April.
You do not realise the lie that runs from me Across the universe to you alone The universe, are you alone Are you alone Are you alone Are you alone Are you alone I'm a-singin like a fool I'm a-singin like a fool I'm a-singin like a fool I'm a-singin like a fool. She's like the snow-capped trees in my jigsaw Lose at the seams within fear of your dreams She's like a fool you meet at the hot store Hand in the pale, and the blacker the veil The blacker the veil.
The Beta Band's first "official" album, "The Beta Band", recieved a lot of harsh criticism from the public and even the Beta Band themselves(which I believe was undeserved, but that's beside the point).
The Beta Band is the official studio debut album of The Beta Band, released in 1999 on Regal Records. The album followed the critically acclaimed compilation of their first three EPs titled The Three . With high anticipation for The Beta Band, the band originally planned to record the album in four separate continents, but financial constraints slimmed the recording locations down; however, the album was still recorded in a variety of locations
Release group by The Beta Band. GB. Regal (latest incarnation under Parlophone Records, relaunched in 1995).
The Beta Band really do live in their pastiche pastures and carry Dada handbags. Their new stand-alone single proves they're still burning fuel past escape velocity- they effortlessly surpass their peers with two seemingly simple songs. To You Alone" opens with a bellowing bass pulse and tantric humming before stuttering into epileptic beats and a plaintive keyboard melody. The song punches a hole through the back of TLC's "No Scrubs", rips out the spine, and reconstructs an interstellar psychedelic booty call. The nocturnal urban pulse blends Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker" and Primal Scream's "Swastika Eyes". A clarinet drifts over basslines that rocket like metro lines.
