Master of the Game is the fourteenth studio album by American keyboardist and record producer George Duke. It was released in 1979 through Epic Records. Recording sessions for this full-length album took place at Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles.
The title track ‘Master of the Game’ is more Europe-esque half balladry than the possible metal cruncher you might think it would be based on the title. I particularly enjoy this brand of heavy metal, it’s somewhat rare, and can be a welcome change to the predominantly heavy focused modern stuff, or the thrashier stuff of the same period. Bands like Horizon are rarely brought up in conversation about great classic metal music. It seems the harder side of metal is much more popular, with bands in this vein being frequently tossed aside. Listening to the album again, I can find few weak points in this excellent album. What a fantastic band for how completely and utterly unknown they are. There’s little to no true filler on this one, with interesting, powerful songs displaying great skill as a songwriting unit, and enough individuality to keep it really interesting.

Complete your Lungfish collection. ON "BLACK HELICOPTERS" LUNGFISH vibrate and churn out an approachable bottom heavy groove that sets the precedent for the tone of the entire album. Lyrically their songs incorporate an ominous poetic imagery propelled by the bands temperate repetitive tempo - minimal guitar, bass, drum combo - that we've come to know as the LUNGFISH idiom. Their mixing of this album is perfect.
