The term hapa is a Native Hawaiian word which is literally translated as "part" or "mix". In Hawaii, the word refers to any person of mixed ethnic heritage, regardless of the specific mixture. In California, the term is used for any person of East Asian or Southeast Asian admixture. Therefore, the two uses are concurrent. Contemporarily, Hapa has also come to mean a person of mixed Asian and other racial heritage.

A Hapa community for all multiracial Eurasians, Blasians, Quapas, Hāfus (ハーフ), Hùnxuè'ér (混血儿), Luk khrueng. No harassing or personal attacks, even for verified Hapa users this will result in temporary bans that will increase in severity for repeated offenses, or permanent bans depending on the situation. Non-Hapas who make posts that are not on the topic of Hapa people will be banned. New Users must enter their racial mix in their flair. Visitors from Alt-Right & Extremist subreddits are granted non-hateful free speech to debate their viewpoints here.

The Hapa album is in fact a tour de force of harmonies, both vocal and instrumental. Even when joined for a guitar trio with guest artist Steven Stills, the style of each performer and voice of each instrument is distinct and fits perfectly into an interlocking composition. Those who appreciate Hawaiian music must have Hapa in their collection. 1 Haleakala Ku Hanohano Hapa 3:15. 2 Kaopuiki Aloha Hapa 6:48. 3 Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai Hapa 3:28. 5 Lei Pikake Hapa 5:24. 6 Olinda Road Hapa 3:26

This 1992 album was a monumental release in Hawaii and beyond. Hapa in three combinations of lead musicians has made subsequent albums, but this one remains the classic. Regarding "Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai," this was a song that was recorded or performed with reasonable frequency and with accompanying hula, but the Hapa rendition elevated this Edith Kanaka‘ole composition to one of the most widely sung and hula-danced to of all Hawaiian songs. Every song is beautiful. The album has superb appeal both for local audiences in Hawai‘i and for fans of World Music everywhere.
