Kali-Yuga’s side of the split sounds like a group of talentless Russian buffoons decided that they too wanted to play black metal. The music gives the impression that they had hardly the faintest idea what the genre really is, and at the same time, attempted to get away with doing the absolute minimum amount of work possible to get something vaguely metallic recorded. The riffs here are often very genre-ambiguous, and sometimes the piss-poor guitar tone makes it difficult to figure out whether it’s a guitar at all. The most metallic track is Morning Star, clocking at under one minute
