Bill Cosby Is a Very Funny Fellow. Right! is the debut album release by Bill Cosby. It was recorded live at the nightclub The Bitter End in New York City's Greenwich Village during early 1963. The album includes three sketches about Noah
Those who only know Bill Cosby as an '80s television star and product pitchman don't know how truly funny and edgy he used to be when he first started out. Bill Cosby Is a Very Funny Fellow is his first album, and it's as good a place to start as any, with the "Noah" trilogy included. A story about the free entertainment on New York subways, a trash-talking Noah, a parody of television commercials, and a karate dissection are included.
The album was a hit upon release, though merely a precursor to Cosby's future popularity and album success on the Warner Bros. Cosby's storytelling style and characters were undeveloped at this stage but his good-natured conversational approach to the surreality of everyday life was nonetheless popular with the public. Bill Cosby is a master finding humor in everyday people and places, and he also puts an interesting spin on stories we grew up with. This album has more of the latter.
