The title of Dntel's third album is really ringing true these days. Who'd have thought that our lives would bear witness to bioterrorism and mass destruction? Even the album cover tacitly cautions against optimism. Yes, life might bring you a million dollar check one day, but as symbolized by the ambulance on Life Is Full of Possibilities' artwork, the envelope could be smeared with anthrax spores.
7 years would pass before Life is Full of Possibilities, Dntel’s first full length would be released, but I’m not writing about those seven years, am I" No, I’m writing about the product of them, and this is what I think about it. A quiet voice comes through the speakers, before anything else. Said voice is of the album’s first guest, Chris Gunst. After more or less repeating himself, Gunst is joined by an ambient organ line and a jittery drum machine.
A track on the album, "(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan", was so well-received (even being released as a single in August 2002) that Dntel would later collaborate with Ben Gibbard again for an entire album, Give Up, released under the name The Postal Service.

From hardstyle to chiptune (the tones of which certainly rears its head through Jimmy Tamborello's line of work) and dubstep, its evolution and passing trends makes Dntel's first record feel far less avant-garde than it might have initially sounded.
