It was the last ELO album with bass guitarist Kelly Groucutt, conductor Louis Clark and real stringed instruments, and the last ELO album to be released on the Jet label. It was also the final ELO studio album to become a worldwide top 40 hit upon release.
There are six tracks here presented on vinyl for the first time including Hello My Old Friend and Endless Lies. The latter was included on 1986’s Balance of Power in an alternate version. Some of the missing tracks ended up as B-sides and reappeared on the Afterglow box set in 1990.
Секретные послания зовут меня бесконечно, They call to me across the air. Они зовут меня по воздуху. И через атмосферу, They whisper in your ear, they're calling everywhere.
The songs were flat and uninteresting. Backward masking-been there, done that. Meh. The double album version is a Masterpiece. And don't think this is the single album with the six missing songs added back in. The mixes are punched up, changed, more vibrant, more exciting. Take Me On and On" sounds like a different song. Thus abandoning in the process many of the bands that had been the biggest sellers in the 70's (that's the music-business!).
