Boccherini: Divertimenti O. 6 Volume 2. Piccolo Concerto Wien, Roberto Sensi. Release Date: 14th Nov 2011. These divertimenti were composed for two violins, obligato flute, viola, two cellos and ripieno bass. The first volume by Piccolo Concerto Wien was well received The performances are extremely accomplished: unostentatious, yet at the same time fully alive to the sometimes virtuoso demands of the writing.

Originally recorded in 2001 in Austria, this album was re-released in 2011 by the Accent label. Perhaps it was reissued to compete with a variety of other recordings of Luigi Boccherini's chamber music that appeared around the same time. The good news is that a number of performers are getting the hang of performing Boccherini's music and exploring his still little-known oeuvre beyond the ubiquitous cello quintets

The String Quintet in E major, Op. 13, No. 5 (G 275), by Luigi Boccherini was written in 1771 and published in 1775. Being one of his most famous works, the quintet is famous for its minuet third movement (often referred to as "The Celebrated Minuet") which is most-often played as a standalone piece outside of the context of the full quintet. This string quintet is a "cello quintet" in that it is scored for a string quartet (two violins, viola, cello) with a second cello as the fifth instrument
