Jurassic 5 is the debut album by American hip hop group Jurassic 5. The material from the Jurassic 5 EP plus a few additional tracks were repackaged as an album and released by Pan Records as Jurassic 5 in 1998. NME named it the 9th best album of 1998. The correct title is simply Jurassic 5, although in some listings it is referred to wrongly as the Jurassic 5 LP, as "LP" confusingly appears on the album sleeve (including the CD version) artwork, which was used to distinguish it from the Jurassic 5 EP.

In 2002, they released their third album, Power In Numbers which peaked at on the Billboard 200 chart. Jurassic 5 eventually toured without Cut Chemist, who left the group to pursue a solo career. The remaining five members released their fourth and final album, Feedback, on July 25, 2006. The album peaked at on the Billboard 20. .The group split in 2007 In 2013, the group re-formed, including the return of Cut Chemist, for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and an inter.

Album · 2002 · 17 Songs. Their growth, both musical and personal, is evident on Power of Numbers. If You Only Knew" shows what J-5 does so well-voices rhyming in tandem and solo-espousing knowledge and superior content superimposed over a fluttering piper. Big things were on their mind on songs such as "Freedom," "Remember His Name," and "I Am Somebody. A strong follow-up to their debut, Quality Control. Power In Numbers Jurassic 5.

But let's get to what you came here wondering about: whether Power in Numbers returns Jurassic 5 to that dope-as-fuck old-school revival style they came with on their debut EP, or if it's a too-comfortable retread of the ready-for-M2 formulas that turned Quality Control from what could have been one of tightest joints of. 2000 into a homogenized backpacker retreat. After a brief intro produced by Cut Chemist, the album kicks off proper with "Freedom".

Regardless of the situation Jurassic 5's Power in Numbers always makes me feel like one cool cat. Weather I’m having a stressful day, a happy day, or a crappy day Power in Numbers is always able to make me kick back and relax. Often compared to hip-hop acts such as Blackalicous, Outkast, and Latyrx J5 have gained some critical acclaim. The groups first album Quality Control lacked both range and consistency but with Power in Numbers J5 come up with some different ideas and experiments. The albums second track, Freedom mixes together smooth lounge stylings, along with a soft beat. There is a conversation going on in the background and it almost makes you feel like you’re sitting in a hotel lobby, a hip hotel lobby that is. If You Only Knew brings elements of jazz and R&B to the table. A sleazy flute line is played throughout the versus as Chali raps it up in his thundering and steady voice.

Jurassic 5: Power in Numbers. Power in Numbers may be their most ambitious album but its aim is to entertain. While the band's four MCs are just as lyrically dextrous as, say, an acclaimed but wearyingly combative rapper like Canibus, their rhyming is focused on the engaging communication of ideas, not wordplay as machismo.

LP (12" album, 33 rpm). Jurassic 5 Format: Vinyl. Jurassic 5 really gets back to the old school of big daddy kane and public enemy. Not only do their words have substance but the rhymes are on point! If you like cheap ghetto rap like g-unit or jay z with the catchy hooks, this ain't the album for you!
