John Bisset is a quietly brilliant improvisational guitarist; Ivor Kallin is a bearded Scotsman given to stream of consciousness spew. They used to run the experimental 2:13 club in a north London pub, but were recently ejected by a confused landlady. The duo's first album finds Kallin dredging his native Glasgow for incoherent memories, many concerning toilets or food, while Bisset extemporises appropriate accompaniment on an acoustic guitar. Atop the 66 bus, Kallin intones apocalyptically sinister street names as the engine rumbles

Ivor Kallin currently plays bass with Ya Basta, and has done for at least two decades, bass with the Horseless Headmen, viola with the improv string trio Barrel (check out Gratuitous Abuse, the CD) and in the London Improvisors Orchestra (CDs on Emanem and Psi), previously played bass guitar with the London Electric Guitar Orchestra (several CDs on 213Music).
