WSUM 9. FM, Airplay, 07/22/2017, Ron Kadish: Tales From Under. The result is varied and deft, an album that radiates the thoughtful glee that sparked it. Kadish has worked for years as an orchestral player and as a touring musician in a variety of bands, from world to rock and jazz. In a rare spare moment, he makes himself sit down and focus on writing, using techniques he picked up from jazz great and committed educator David Baker. There’s one difference from most jazz composers: Kadish starts from under, with the bass. I write a lot of my melodies on the bass.
You may not be familiar with Ron Buist, but you know his handiwork. - The Ottawa Citizen. A behind-the-scenes look at a simple business that became a Canadian icon. Tales from Under the Rim chronicles the rise of Tim Hortons, from its humble beginnings to a national institution. The recipe was simple: it took "one hockey player, one favourite barber shop, one former drummer, and one police officer" plus "the luck hard work brings" to transform a once unknown donut shop into one of Canada's leading franchise operations
