My Way is the second studio album by American singer Usher. It was released on September 16, 1997 by LaFace Records, in North America.
My Way is an album by American singer Frank Sinatra, released in 1969 on his own Reprise label. The album is mainly a collection of then-contemporary pop songs, such as Simon and Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson", and The Beatles' "Yesterday", French songs such as "If You Go Away", and the anthemic title song "My Way", which effectively became Sinatra's theme song in this stage of his career.
My Way" is a song popularized in 1969 by Frank Sinatra. Its lyrics were written by Paul Anka and set to the music of the French song "Comme d'habitude" co-composed and co-written (with Jacques Revaux), and performed in 1967 by Claude François. Anka's English lyrics are unrelated to the original French song. The song was a success for a variety of performers including Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Sid Vicious. Sinatra's version of "My Way" spent 75 weeks in the UK Top 40, a record which still stands.
My way, my way You can't satisfy her needs She keeps running back to see me do it My way, my way What I say, goes And I'm in control. Bad ass, señoritas, two-seaters with kicks New kicks, all in the mix I don't turn no tricks, they turn for me Catching bricks don't concern me So forget it, little midget My mind on seven digits Before I pay Heaven skies a visit, now dig it I'm pulling all stops, locking down all spots Saying . Usher’s My Way off his eponymous album released in 1997 was a popular r&b song that spawned a hit single and music video. Here, Usher’s macking skills are on full display.
While her singing here is pleasant and competent, it's rather average when stacked against the emotional commitment and personality the best interpreters of such tunes brought to the material at the time. Indeed, Faithfull herself would do the same kind of repertoire, with considerably greater vocal imagination and more forceful musical backing, on her underrated third . album, 1966's North Country Maid. Still, it's an OK record, Faithfull putting her pipes to reverent use on folk revival staples like "Portland Town," "House of the Rising Sun," "Once.
That way a whole generation of kids will see themselves in the work, and do the work themselves too. That cover is pretty much a readymade example. You feel like you can peel it off, and that was important to me. The collaboration reads itself. The same way the Nike shoes - you look at them and you can almost feel like you can do it yourself or you can see the handmade feel in it. I haven't done an album cover in what feels like six years . It's sort of the situation of the album cover - we have an organic way of working together. It literally comes out.
