East Coast hip hop is a regional subgenre of hip hop music that originated in New York City during the early 1970s. Hip hop is recognized to have originated and evolved first in The Bronx, New York; East Coast hip hop only became a distinct subgenre after artists from other regions of the United States emerged with different styles. In contrast to other styles, East Coast hip hop music has prioritized complex lyrics for attentive listening rather than beats for dancing

InI was a hip hop group composed of Rob-O, Grap Luva, Ras G . Marco Polo, now known as Jolomite, and DJ Boodakhan. The group started working on their debut album together with producer Pete Rock in the mid-90s, and signed a deal with Rock's new found imprint Soul Brother Records through Elektra. The record company eventually shelved the album, releasing only one 12" single in 1996.

The song was the lead single off their monumental debut album Mecca And The Soul Brother and is now widely regarded as one of the best Hip Hop songs ever. 2. Wu-Tang Clan - . The final single from Wu-Tang Clan’s monumental debut album Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The Marley Marl produced title track of LL Cool J‘s fourth album, Mama Said Knock You Out, showed LL in top form. 22 years old at the time – and already a Hip Hop veteran, LL Cool J felt it was necessary to knock out all critics who said he fell off with his third album, Walking With A Panther. The song was produced by Marley Marl and uses samples from James Brown’s Funky Drummer, the Chicago Gangsters’ Gangster Boogie, Sly & The Family Stone’s Trip to Your Heart the drum break from Digital Underground’s The Humpty Dance, and LL Cool J’s own Rock the Bells.

Last night, 30 Rock aired its live episode, and as we predicted, it was pretty much snafu-free. Much more interesting, though, were the subtle tweaks made between the two different versions taped for the east and west coasts; some of the changes were clearly planned from the start, and others gave us insight into how a joke can be revised on the fly by 30 Rock’s writers and made better. Here are the 17 changes we noticed between the two versions, from Jon Hamm’s hands to Dr. Spaceman’s love songs
