At the Mountain of Madness (2006) is a live album. Mysterium (2006) compiled three major chamber compositions: Orphe for viola, harp, keyboard, percussion, electronics, flute; Frammenti del Sappho for voice, soprano, alto, soprano; Walpurgisnacht for violin, viola and cello.
In New York City, Lindsay began his artistic ambitions as a writer but quickly became interested in the art and music scenes that were evolving out punk rock. In the late 1970s, he helped form the no wave band DNA with Ikue Mori and Robin Crutchfield, although Tim Wright of Pere Ubu soon replaced Crutchfield. In 1978, DNA was featured on the four-band sampler No New York (produced by Brian Eno) which brought an early taste of international notoriety to the group and which became the essential document of No Wave.
A major figure in New York City's avant-garde music community since the '70s, Elliott Sharp is a composer and instrumentalist whose body of work runs the gamut from experimental and contemporary classical pieces to blues, noise rock, and electronic music. Sharp was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March . .Sharp's classmates at Bard included brothers John Lurie and Evan Lurie, who would go one to form the "fake jazz" ensemble the Lounge Lizards. After getting his . at Bard, Sharp did graduate work at the University of Buffalo, where he studied with Morton Feldman and Lejaren Hiller. Sharp released his first album in 1977, a collaboration with David Fulton called Hara, and between then and 2014, he issued over 85 albums, either as a solo artist or with his many collaborative projects, including Carbon, Semantics, Terraplane, and Bootstrappers.
