De Vermis Mysteriis is the sixth studio album by metal band High on Fire. Cover art was done by tattoo artist Tim Lehii. According to frontman Matt Pike, The album’s title (translation: The Mysteries of the Worm, ) is a nod to a fictional grimoire conceived by the late, great Psycho author Robert Bloch in 1935 and later incorporated into horror master . This is a group of young musicians that spread their creativity over several bands. The general concept binds these bands but the execution is different. My first encounter with them was the split Ayin Harsha, a collaboration between De Vermis Mysteriis and Morkenatten. At the time I was very positive about it and wanted to hear more. It seems i have been served on my wims. While Compendium Ordinis carries around 30 minutes of music, this album, released on Portugese label Altare Productions, is more a portfolio of what the OOA has to offer.
