Ultra is the debut studio album by English pop band Ultra, released in January 1999 by East West Records (Warner Music Group). It was mainly performed and co-written by James Hearn; vocals and piano, Michael Harwood; vocals and guitar, Nick Keynes; bass, and Jon O'Mahony; drums and percussion. It was produced by ex Tears for Fears member, Ian Stanley. Say You Do" (James Hearn) –3:26.

Ultra is the ninth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released on 14 April 1997 by Mute Records. It is the band's first album since the departure of Alan Wilder, who had left the band in 1995 having become disillusioned with life in Depeche Mode. Wilder's departure and lead singer Dave Gahan's drug problems, which culminated in a near-fatal overdose, had caused many people to speculate that the band was finished. This is their first album as a trio since 1982's A Broken Frame, along with it being their first album where the band themselves were.

Virtually all of her singles have reached the Top 10 of the US Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Depeche Mode release their twelfth album, the aptly titled 'Ultra' on April 14 on Mute. Following 1993's platinum selling, No. 1 album, 'Songs Of Faith And Devotion', 'Ultra' was recorded and produced in New York, Los Angeles and London during the last year by Tim Simenon. The album stands as a personal and artistic triumph from a band who lived through their darkest days during its creation. Depeche Mode's broadness of musical vision is reflected in the choice of collaborators who appear on 'Ultra': Jaki Liebezeit, drummer with German experimental pioneers Can, former Living Colour/Tackhead bassist Doug Wimbish and pedal steel guitarist supreme .

Happily, Ultra turned out a winner; hooking up with Tim Simenon, longtime . dance maven and producer of arty fare such as Gavin Friday's Adam 'n' Eve, Depeche delivered a strong album as a rejuvenated band. The most immediate change was Gahan's singing; for the first time ever, he took singing lessons beforehand, and his new control and projection simply shines, especially on the marvelous "It's No Good," a pulsing, tense, yet beautiful song with another deeply romantic Gore lyric.

A few decent tracks but too many instrumentals and slow tracks unfortunately make Ultra one of the bands weakest releases.
