John Lennon: The Complete Lost Lennon Tapes Vol. 1 - 22. Lee67. Lossy Audio Bootlegs. 25. 11-26-2010 09:44 PM. John Lennon: Imagine - The Sessions. 8. 11-30-2009 04:27 PM. John Lennon: The Lost Lennon Tapes.
These outtakes were not taken from John Lennon 's last sessions (most of them aren't even among his final recordings), and few if any of them were recorded in "The Village," if that's Greenwich Village they're talking about. Such misleading packaging, however, is far from the worst of the sins committed by this bootleg. For this mishmash of unreleased Lennon solo material is not even 100-percent John Lennon. Instead, someone has taken the liberty of overdubbing an assortment of his outtakes with additional instrumentation, neither approved (obviously) nor played.
The Lost Lennon Tapes was an American music documentary series presented by Elliot Mintz, comprising a three-hour premiere episode and 218 one-hour episodes, broadcast on Westwood One Radio Network between 24 January 1988 and 29 March 1992.

Album cover for John Lennon and Yoko Ono's record 'Double Fantasy' which was released on November 17th, 1980. Michael Ochs Archives/Getty. John Lennon and Yoko Ono arrived at the Hit Factory around 4:30 on the afternoon of Monday, December 8th, for what was to be their last recording session together. They were working on one of Yoko’s compositions, a New Wave-ish disco number called Walking on Thin Ice, which they planned to release as a single. The basic track had been recorded during the Double Fantasy sessions in August, and Yoko had done a master vocal - including a short poem that appears midway through the song - the previous Wednesday. On Thursday, John had added guitars and keyboards, with producer Jack Douglas pitching in on percussion.
The White Album sessions commenced with Revolution, written by Lennon in the foothills of Rishikesh. I wanted to put out what I felt about revolution, he explained in 1970. Looking back on the White Album, Lennon and McCartney were more than satisfied. I always preferred it to all the other albums, including Pepper, John said in ’71, I thought the music was better. The Pepper myth is bigger, but the music on the White Album is far superior.
