Complete your Tina Turner collection. Tina Turner's 2nd solo release and her last while still under the artistic control of then husband Ike Turner. Side 1 is composed of renditions of UK rock classics from The Rolling Stones, The Who and Led Zeppelin while side 2 is Ike Turner material. Side 2 opening track "Baby, get it on" has also been released as by "Ike & Tina Turner".
But, of course, Turner is anything but predictable, and Acid Queen is thus an immensely enjoyable affair from start to finish. Her version of Led Zep's "Whole Lotta Love" takes the dynamics of the original and turns them upside down to deliver an affair that is on par with some of Isaac Hayes' finest moments.
