BMI Goes India seems an outsider, but after listening to Sankritized we may truely say that Maarten and Barend have developed their own unique sound. A quirky sound that stays far away from the sweet, kitschy side of Bollywood and commercial radio-friendly dance music. Report as inappropriate. The Dutch dance duo BMI Goes India comes with their second album full of dance mixed with world music. The duo from Eindhoven, Weert are the Tromp brothers. The opening song 'Madhukauns' immediately reveals what we expect from this gentlemen.
BMI Goes India is a Dutch dance duo from the Tromp brothers. Barend is a trained sitar player and Maarten is a producer and takes care of the electronics. Together they blend elements of classical Indian and Bollywood music from the sixties and seventies with modern dance music into an unique style. This style can be labeled as Asian Underground but there is much more to it than that. BMI also has a good live reputation and have played on many big Dutch festivals. Now for the first time their music can be heard on a solo-album.
In 2018 BMI goes India released their second album "SANSKRITIZED". The title stands for the mixing of old and new styles andthat is exactly what BMI Goes India does in their music. On this album they bring many dance styles together, ranging from drum 'n bass, electro to psychedelic and world music and everything in between. Live they will go one step further and they use special visuals. This makes you feel good and dreaming about a different world.
