Before stress testing the system, the most important thing to have is some sort of way to measure temperatures of the components in your system. While some applications such as AIDA64 or Intel XTU will come with the ability to measure component temperatures, some of the other benchmarks don’t have this ability, which is why it’s important to have something to ensure that Prime95 or Furmark isn’t burning up your brand new components. The most intense test is the Small FFTs stress test which stresses the CPU the most ensuring that any possible issues will reveal itself early on. Another good test is the blended test which not only stresses the CPU, but the RAM as well. If you’re limited on time, this is a good way to test both the CPU and RAM at the same time. Just 30 seconds of "Rosanna" will tell you whether a product is on the good or bad side of things. Listen for the castanets in the recording, as they are key. If the instruments sound like they're coming from 20 or 30 feet behind the guitars, and if you can hear them echoing off the walls and ceiling of the large church where this recording was made, then your system is doing a fine job. 05. of 10.
