Kate Nash - Girl Talk download mp3 album
Girl Talk is the third studio album by English singer-songwriter Kate Nash. Nash self-released the album under Have 10p Records along with Fontana in March 2013 after she raised money for the album on PledgeMusic. Featuring a heavier rock-influenced sound, the album is a noticeable departure from her first two indie pop albums. Lyrically, it draws a lot of influence from the riot grrrl movement.
With her 2010 sophomore album, My Best Friend Is You, British singer/songwriter Kate Nash successfully broadened her intimate folk-pop outlook to a more slickly produced, post-Amy Winehouse neo-soul sound. The change intrigued some and displeased others, but overall it proved that Nash (who was only 20 when she recorded her debut) wasn't content to stick to one sound. She was clearly growing up and growing her sound along the way. Nash takes this growth even further on her third studio album, 2013's raw and rambunctious Girl Talk.

A darling of the British press before she was 20, Nash is no longer signed to a major label and instead crowd-funded her new album, Girl Talk, online. She traded her sundresses for a leather jacket, dyed her hair black with chunky white-blond streaks, and got a all-female band she’s dubbed girl gang

Kate Nash - 'Girl Talk'. You’ve got a problem with me ’cos I’m a girl. An album that veers between the lush pop melodies of her last two LPs and a full-frontal riot grrrl assault. And it places its mission – to close the gender gap in pop music – completely front and centre. Take the Hole-indebted ‘Sister’, a teary tale of a friendship lost, which kicks off with a ‘Doll Parts’-esque bass throb before tearing into a ‘Violet’-evoking screech of I’M TALKING TO YOU. Then there’s the seething Sleater- Kinney-meets-Bikini Kill wail of ‘Cherry Pickin’’ and the Cramps-infused rampage ‘Death Proof’
Without doubt, this is Kate's heartbreak album; candid in its inspiration, both musically and emotionally. 80. Unvarnished and unpredictable, then, but in the grand Slits/Raincoats tradition, Nash is no-one's little girl.
Girl Talk' is the sound of Kate Nash, stretching her wings and just pleasing herself. It's not that bad, but it isn't much else, really. This is the first time that I've found myself disliking the sound of a Kate Nash album. There isn't much to make it memorable, but there's nothing that could make you hate it. A reasonably decent release, but it isn't much of anything, really.
