Themes of cosmic consciousness. Tech/Extreme Prog Metal.

Cosmic Consciousness: A Study in the Evolution of the Human Mind is a 1901 book by the psychiatrist Richard Maurice Bucke, in which the author explores the concept of cosmic consciousness, which he defines as "a higher form of consciousness than that possessed by the ordinary man". In Cosmic Consciousness, Bucke stated that he discerned three forms, or degrees, of consciousness: Simple consciousness, possessed by both animals and mankind.

Having the 5th dimensional cosmic consciousness burning thru one’s constitution, instead of the just about always insome sort of shit, 3rd dimensional self consciousness. The conquering of all down, dark moods and the bliss level reascended to, never to be downloaded from again. Nirvana, Buddha called it.

Cosmic Consciousness. Cosmic Consciousness, Pieces of Heaven with Hemi-Sync, Wisdom of the Heart, Your Heart's Song. Barry Goldstein’s musical experience spans many styles and genres from co-producing the Grammy Award winning track "69 Freedom Special with Les Paul for Best Rock Instrumental in 2005, to providing ambient music for Shirley MacLaine.

The man of cosmic consciousness, never feeling himself as limited to a body or as reaching only to the brain, or only to the cerebral-lotus light of a thousand rays, instead feels by true intuitive power the ever-bubbling Bliss that dances in every particle of his little body, and in his big Cosmic Body of the universe, and in his absolute. nature as one with the Eternal Spirit beyond manifested forms. The man into whose pure hand his divine bodily kingdom has been wholly delivered is no longer a human being with limited ego consciousness.

Suns of Cosmic Consciousness. World music fans will groove especially to "Reincarnation 1968," a bright, wide-ranging journey through kirtan chanting which taps into the spirit of the Woodstock generation; its wordless chorus is sung by Yamin, Bernstein and guest vocalists Kate McGarry and Jane Kelly Williams. Other influences playing a part in this stirring mélange include rhythms from Brazil, Cuba and even India.

Red Tide was formed in 1992 by guitarist/vocalist Jeff Wu, bassist Jeff Bennett, and drummer Justin Foley. Originally they started out primarily as a thrash metal band. In those early high school days they released 3 demos of pure hardcore/thrash metal. Red Tide went on to play the Simsbury High School Battle of the Bands in which they won 1st place. Noted as the first "real" metal band to play the event and the first band to play their own material vs covers. In 1995 Red Tide took a turn in their musical direction. In 1997 Red Tide went into the studio to record their first full length "Themes of the Cosmic Consciousness". This was a self-financed independent CD release. It gained in popularity through the help of the internet. In 1998 Andy Dickins leaves the band to pursue other interests. Finally in 2001 Red Tide released their last effort "Type II". This included Blue on bass.
