Cities In Concert: Houston Lyon' was Jarre's second live album. The video of this concert was my first approach to JEAN MICHEL JARRE and I was simply impressed, the spectacular light show, the laser harp and the pompous music gave me a wrong impression that he could be the best Prog musician of the 80's, so immediately bought the album and honestly my opinion changed radically.

Rendez-vous Houston: A City in Concert was a live performance by musician Jean Michel Jarre amidst the skyscrapers of downtown Houston on the evening of April 5, 1986, coinciding with the release of the Rendez-Vous album. For a period of time, it held a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest outdoor "rock concert" in history, with figures varying from 1 to . million in attendance.

Jean-Michel André Jarre (French: ; born 24 August 1948) is a French composer, performer and record producer. He is a pioneer in the electronic, ambient and new-age genres, and known for organising outdoor spectacles featuring his music, vast laser displays and fireworks. Jarre was raised in Lyon by his mother and grandparents and trained on the piano.

By 1986, Jean-Michel Jarre's live show was an immersive, multimedia experience. Both concerts here were tied to major events-NASA's 25th anniversary and a papal visit-and Jarre responds with his most majestic music. The use of live bass and drums, and his interplay with the band, gives Jarre's synthesiser epics "Oxygene" and "Equinoxe" more muscle than their iconic studio takes. The pulses are heavier and the solos more aggressive, and each musical climax is accompanied by the roar of an audibly thrilled audience. Houston, Lyon 1986 Jean-Michel Jarre.
