Machito - The World Greatest Latin Band download mp3 album

Machito (born Francisco Raúl Gutiérrez Grillo, February 16, 1908 – April 19, 1984) was a Latin jazz musician who helped refine Afro-Cuban jazz and create both Cubop and salsa music. He was raised in Havana with the singer Graciela, his foster sister. In New York City, Machito formed the band the Afro-Cubans in 1940, and with Mario Bauzá as musical director, brought together Cuban rhythms and big band arrangements in one group.
Like many of the later GNP records, The World's Greatest Latin Band is an exercise in competence but not excitement. There are songs sung by Graciela (not enough), songs sung by Machito and trio, a trumpet solo by Jimmy Zito, and a sax solo by Aaron Sachs. Bernie's Tune" and Miles Davis' "Pent-Up House" are tacked on the ends of each side; neither jazz nor Latin fans should expect much spontaneity. There are only eleven tracks, and none of them are long, so maybe the session was not long enough to have yielded more inspiring material.
An intersection in East Harlem is named "Machito Square" in his honor. Machito, nacido Francisco Raúl Gutiérrez Grillo el 16 de febrero de 1908, fue un influyente músico de jazz latino que ayudó a perfeccionar jazz afro-cubano y crear tanto Cubop y la música salsa .

A great little album of boogaloos and hard Latin tracks – one of the few rare gems on the long-lost Speed label. The set features the work of the Orquesta Olivieri, led by trumpeter Herbie Olivieri, and featuring more trumpet, piano, and percussion, plus lead vocals by Angelo Jiminez and. LP, Vinyl record album. A monster album of Latin soul – arguably the greatest record ever cut by Hector Rivera! The record's a rare cooker that never lets up at all – a non-stop boogaloo party that definitely lives up to its swinging cover image – and which is quite different than most other albums from.
The signature song of Latin music’s greatest melodramatist, Querida finds Juan Gabriel at his most extra: Vulnerable yet masculine, flamboyant but crude. Juanga masterfully melds Sinatra-style orchestral pop with a Beatles-approved backbeat into a fiery lament of desperation. Its impact was still undeniable, with the song serving as the basis for hits across the world from Japan to Turkey – not to mention Jennifer Lopez’s top five smash Get On the Floor. It even inspired and soundtracked its own movie, the tone-deaf 1990 flop The Forbidden Dance. The band’s third studio album wholly captured the sound and vibrant energy of the rock en español explosion and helped catapult the movement to international reach.
