The album Go, released in April 1976, was a fine achievement and Yamashta assembled a band featuring collaborators Steve Winwood, Michael Shrieve, Klaus Schulze and Al Di Meola to deliver a series of stunning concerts. The Parisian concert was captured by Island Records and was released as Go! Live from Paris in 1977. Exclusive discount for Prime members. Sample this album Artist - Artist (Sample).

Al Dimiola, Steve Winwood, Michael Shrieve & co, deliver one awesome performance here. Done back in 77 this cd should not be overlooked. Not sure go look them up on YT. Stunning musicianship all around & a fine recording. Well worth looking into & having. Al 's guitar work is super hot,Steve's vocals are crisp as is his keyboards, ex Santana drummer Mike Shrieve is as good as can be, & Stomu Yamashta & Klaus Shultz throw in some amazing percussion & synth work. Go Live From Paris" is a rather obscure recording and is a hard to find classic. It is worth the effort as this is a must have for any fans of Progressive Rock. The All Star cast includes Steve Winwood, Michael Shrieve, and Al DiMeola. Shrieves' drumming is incredible being so intricate and precise. DiMeola lays down some awesome guitar solos that will blow you away.

Michael Shrieve (born July 6, 1949) is an American drummer, percussionist, and composer. He is best known as the drummer of the rock band Santana. He played on its albums from 1969 to 1974 Contents He played in the band Hagar Schon Aaronson Shrieve (with Sammy Hagar, Neal Schon, and Kenny Aaronson). Later, he played drums on (former Supertramp member) Roger Hodgson's first solo album, In the Eye of the Storm.

In 1976, he was drafted by Japanese percussionist and composer Stomu Yamashta to join his short-lived "supergroup" Go, also featuring Steve Winwood, Michael Shrieve, and Al Di Meola Throughout the 1970s he followed closely in the footsteps of Tangerine Dream, albeit with far lighter sequencer lines and a more reflective, dreamy sheen, not unlike the ambient music of his contemporary Brian Eno. On occasions he w. .Also in 2013 Klaus Schulze announced that he would not be performing live on stage anymore.

CD - Universal Distribution. The primary difference when comparing this live performance and the rendering simply titled Go (1976) is that Go Live From Paris (1978) presents the proceedings (as they exist) in a properly linear fashion, as correlated to the Eastern mythology that informed the extended two-part suite. This is in direct contrast to Go, which assembled the contents out of sequence. The stage show was recorded at the Palais Des Sports in Paris, France on June 12, 1976 and the recital setting allows for considerably longer and more exploratory interaction amongst Stomu Yamashta (percussion/piano), Steve Winwood (vocals/keyboards) and.

Michael Shrieve, who also played with SANTANA, acts as the wellknown proficient and accentuated drummer. Remarkable are also the brilliant vocals exchanges of Winwood and Karen Friedman. It's a little bit tricky - only Friedman is pointed out for additional vocals but you can hear also some other female backing voices. The band is presenting the studio album 'Go' live with nearly the same line-up, but extended, with more improvisations. The release consists of 6 longer tracks - some of them have jam character - which take turns with spacy electronic breaks and piano interludes.

Steve Winwood left Traffic around the same time Michael Shrieve left Santana. After an appendicitis attack in 1971 Winwood developed peritonitis, a condition that made the unstable lifestyle of touring unbearable for him. He left Traffic during the tour to promote the band’s last 1970s studio album, When the Eagle Flies, released in September 1974.
