The Pretty Things are an English rock band, formed in 1963 in London. They took their name from Willie Dixon's 1955 song "Pretty Thing". A pure rhythm and blues band in their early years, with several singles charting in the United Kingdom, they later embraced other genres such as psychedelic rock in the late 1960s (with 1968 . Sorrow being one of the first rock operas), hard rock in the early 1970s and new wave in the early 1980s
Get the Picture? is the second album by the English rock group The Pretty Things, released in 1965. Recording began on The Pretty Things' second album in around September 1965, just months after the release of their debut. It ended up being a haphazard affair thanks to a growing problem with drummer Viv Prince whose behaviour was becoming ever more erratic and reckless.
Pretty Things is a legendary band that was founded in 1963 in England. In their early years they played like The Rolling Stones music that was based on black American genres like rock and roll rhythm & & blues.

The Pretty Things' debut LP was a legendary exercise in anarchy - 30 minutes into the two days' worth of sessions, their original producer, Jack Baverstock (the head of the label, no less), walked out, and was eventually replaced by a slightly more sympathetic personality in the hopes of salvaging something from the efforts of the band, who, whatever their genteel. The Pretty Things is recorded with practically every song and instrument pushing the needle into the red (.
Uncovering the Next Generation's Hall of Fame. I'm not willing to make Rolling Stone the scapegoat here. The voters are pretty diverse, including a lot of artists. And the voting was tallied by Ernst & Young, so it is likely a legit reflection of the voters will (unlike the Rock Hall vote LOL). And each person was only asked to pick 20 artists. Is Dylan's last album enough to put him over the top? How bout' the Stones? Has U2 or Springsteen ade the top 20, in your mind (or anyone's out there, for that matter)?
The album, as planned, was widely panned by anyone who even walked past a record store that happened to be selling it. Dylan got exactly what he wanted: A pile of s t he could point to when people tried to call him the voice of a generation. If only Kurt Cobain had those kind of problem solving skills. For some reason, Pete was a little bitter about being jettisoned from the biggest rock group of all time and came up with what has to be one of the most elaborate rock and roll revenge plots of all time. So, he recorded an album and called it Best of The Beatles. And he was right, that s t was hilarious!
The Pretty Things were the also-rans of the British Invasion, a band that never got its due. Despite this lack of recognition, they were never quite ignored, cultivating a passionate cult that stuck with them through the decades - a cult that was drawn to either their vicious early records, where . .Drummer Prince left toward the end of 1965 and was succeeded by Skip Alan, while the group's 1966 album Get the Picture? showed the rough, ragged rock & roll group adopting a slight pop art stance. More lineup changes soon followed - Pendleton and Stax left by early 1967, with John Povey and Wally Waller taking their place - and Fontana pushed the group in a softer, string-laden direction for that year's Emotions.
