Alan Parsons Live is the first live album by Alan Parsons, recorded in May 1994 during his European tour, and released late that year by Arcade Records in Europe. RCA/BMG added three new studio tracks and changed the cover art when releasing the album in the rest of the world in 1995, renaming it The Very Best Live; stylized on the cover with "The Very Best" in a smaller font between Alan Parsons and Live. The live performances on the album are all songs from his years with The Alan Parsons Project.
When Alan Parsons appeared on stage, along with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and his band the audience went wild. This is an audio visual document of that incredible evening. Now to the great delight of his fans, for the first time on a live video and audio recording, THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT combines the talents of his amazing band with the lush sound of a 70-piece symphony orchestra, creating a very special show with unmatched quality. Together, they revitalize hits such as Eye In The Sky, Don’t Answer Me and Sirius. The lineup consists of Alan Parsons on acoustic guitar, keys, and vocals, .
Legendary producer and musician Alan Parsons released a live recording of the highly successful tour of Germany and Austria that took place in March of 2013. The virtually sold out tour resulted in euphoric, standing ovations after every show. The recording is entitled LiveSpan and was captured on two sold out nights in the Beethoven Halle in Stuttgart, Germany and is a anthology of all the greatest hits of The Alan Parsons Project. The double live-CD also features the entire suite of The Turn Of A Friendly Card that has never been previously released as a live performance
The Alan Parsons Project rarely toured or played live, but the energy, atmosphere, and compelling flow that surrounds The Very Best Live proves that the band's stage presence seemed to come naturally. Recorded during a 1994 European tour, each of these songs is performed unchanged and untainted, which automatically makes for a pleasing live album. Other peak moments on the album include "Luciferama," a unique version of "Lucifer" (from the Eve LP) with an ending that contains hints of the instrumental "Mammagamma," and a rich rendition of "Eye in the Sky," completely true to form. The last three songs, "When," "Take the Money and Run," and "You're the Voice," are all studio tracks, with "When" being the catchiest of the trio.
