Days of Future Passed is the second album and first concept album by English prog rock band The Moody Blues, released in November 1967 by Deram Records. With its fusion of orchestral and rock elements, it has been cited as one of the first examples of progressive rock. The album was recorded at a time when the Moody Blues were suffering financial difficulties and lack of critical and commercial success.

Originally released as Deram SML707 in November 1967. Album stereo mix remastered from the original master tapes at Logical Box Studios, Genova, Italy. Surround mix manipulated from the original Quadraphonic Masters and bonus tracks remastering at the Audio Archiving Company, London

The one thing Days Of Future Passed had going for it, was that it was a concept album, a new and ambitious undertaking, an avenue that many bands were not venturing down. What the album didn’t have going for it was the London Festival Orchestra, along with the two spoken word poems, as these concepts at the time were seen as products of a bygone era, not compatible with current musical tastes and explorations

Originally released in November 1967, Days of Future Passed was an outstanding technical achievement for its time. Then Peter Knight wrote the symphonic score to these pop tunes to underscore the Moody Blues' original songs, using the London Festival Orchestra.

The Second album by the Moody Blues, and their first concept album; actually, one of the first concept rock albums ever. Described as – one of the first pieces of heavily orchestrated, album-length psychedelic rock to come out of England. Fully accompanied by a studio orchestra – the London Festival Orchestra, conducted by Peter Knight. The band’s keyboard player, Mike Pinder used the mellotrone that was developed shortly before the recording.
