Sample this album Artist (Sample). Jim Welder has come up with a truly rockin' & honky tonk guitar player's must have album. This is an album you can hear an unprocessed raw to sweet REAL guitar playing. Besides the playing the recording is so well done, open and airy.

The debut album for Jim Weider and the Honky Tonk Gurus is called Big Foot, but, really, it should be titled "Big Rockin' Sound. The group of well-known musicians from the Wodstock area have put together a recording of some of the hottest electric blues that I've heard in a long, long time. If you haven't yet heard this incarnation of a band, odds are you've heard the Honky Tonk Gurus members in various other guises.

Weider, as some of you probably know, works as the guitarist in the current version of The Band. While his playing there is excellent and always adds to the songs, I was unprepared for the firepower shown here. Weider comes across, on all 11 cuts, as a powerhouse player who knows his instrument inside and out, and is more than comfortable in any genre of music. Check out the tone on the opening/title track. Snarling can’t even begin to describe it. I, and thousands of other players, would kill for this sound
