Born without his right hand, award-winning British pianist Nicholas McCarthy is a champion of the brave, dynamic world of left-hand repertoire. With this highly anticipated second album, Echoes presents some of Nicholas’s favourite pieces by composers Bach and Rachmaninoff showcasing virtuosic pieces such as Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in G Minor O. 3 N. and Brahms’s monumental Chaconne in D Minor to the stunning Andante from Rachmainoff’s Cello Sonata to the pastoral setting of Bach’s Sheep May Safely Graze.

Rachmaninoff Plays The Classics: Featuring Works By Bach, Mozart, Beethoven And More. Released by Superlative Classical Records Jan 2012 37 Tracks.

Bach: The Goldberg Variations is the 1955 debut album of Canadian classical pianist Glenn Gould. An interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations (BWV 988), the work launched Gould's career as a renowned international pianist, and became one of the most well-known piano recordings. Sales were "astonishing" for a classical album: it was reported to have sold 40,000 copies by 1960, and had sold more than 100,000 by the time of Gould's death in 1982.

Rachmaninoff (Bach) - Suite from Partita in E Violin (Belwin Mills). Translation: The original works of W. F. Bach, Fodor, Gurlitt, Handel, Mozart, Rachmaninoff and Streabogg are included, in score format. Original: Fifty Shades Of Grey. Arranged by David Dutkanicz, Justin Tokke, Nicholas Hopkins.

GREG ANDERSON: BACH & RACHMANINOFF - PROGRAM NOTES Bach's Fifth French Suite and Rachmaninoff's First Sonata are paired side-by-side in sharp relief. One is a beacon of light and purity, the other a disturbing portrait of a troubled soul. One is a collection of cheerful dances, elegant vestiges of another world; the other is an epic, even overbearing three-act tragedy. Together they represent my personal journey as a pianist: I first learned one only months after beginning piano lessons as a youngster; the other I began years later as a doctoral student at Yale University. Not that university was any sort of hell. BACH: FRENCH SUITE NO 5 For me, Bach's Fifth French Suite is like a drive down memory lane. Not only is it one of the first works I learned as a pianist, but the suite itself transports it's listeners, myself included, into a state of child-like innocence.
