Gary Numan / Tubeway Army - The Plan download mp3 album

Replicas is the second and final studio album by English new wave band Tubeway Army, released in April 1979 by Beggars Banquet Records. It followed their self-titled debut from the previous year. After this, Tubeway Army frontman Gary Numan would continue to release records under his own name, though the musicians in Tubeway Army would continue to work with him for some time
The Plan is a retrospective album of early demo recordings by Tubeway Army (the band name originally used by Gary Numan) released in 1984. The demos were originally recorded in 1978. In the album's sleevenotes, Numan states that they were deliberately written and recorded in the then-popular punk rock style (clipped vocals, buzzsaw guitar mainly playing barre chords, bass and drums), with the express aim of securing a record deal. Two months after The Plan's release, Numan issued Berserker, his first album through his own record label, Numa Records. Chartwise, The Plan outperformed Berserker, the latter reaching on the UK album chart. For later CD releases of The Plan, bonus tracks were added such as Tubeway Army's debut single "That's Too Bad" and an early version of the Tubeway Army album track "The Life Machine".

Pleasure principal MAY be the superior album ( or the 'down in the park'predecessor ) but this is harder, rocking and synths both.

In mid-1979, Gary Numan and Tubeway Army emerged as the last true superstar of the 1970s on the back of an icicle synth sound that seemingly slammed the future into the face of everyone who turned on the radio. Less than 18 months earlier, however, they were just another ragtag punk band, demoing a clutch of songs in the hope that their record label would let them make another record. That particular crime is not too apparent on The Plan - at least when compared to Replicas et al. But an enjoyable album should not be allowed to suffer for the success of its successors and, though you never really discover precisely what the titular plan might have been, you can at least applaud Numan for hatching it.
