My problem is that I like ALL the albums from My Dying Bride and once in a while I had a little disappointment. In conclusion, "Like Gods in the Sun" is a good album, sometimes a brilliant one, it has some ups and downs, but I would only take 3 tracks out of it, and even those tracks are not bad: they just don't feel as great as all the other.
Album · 1997 · 11 Songs. More By My Dying Bride. See All. Feel the Misery.
Forever My Dying Bride, Black Sabbath, Paradise Lost, Anathema, Katatonia. Great bands and a Masterpiece album. You fill me up with dark thoughts of you The Devil talks to me When you're touching me My lust it burns deep inside of yo. We burn like gods of the sun Paradise pales compared to you Never will we be alone Our world will change for no one. And as our live are closing We lie close and hear nothing.
First released on the Like Gods of the Sun LP, October 7th, 1996. Re-released on the Anti-Diluvian. My Dying Bride - Bring Me Victory (EP)Oberlerer. Band: My Dying Bride Song: The Light At The End of The World Album: The Light At The End of The World Lyrics: An isle, a bright shining isle stands forever,. My Dying Bride "The Dreadful Hours" LIVE
My Dying Bride is, without a doubt, the most brilliant doom/goth metal band on the face of the planet, perfecting the art of blending eerie, orchestral passages with dark. oppressive guitar riffs so that each song floats with hypnotizing grace, yet rumbles ominously with deep aggression. My Dying Bride embraces pain, suffering and fear with its captivating, malevolent sound, built of hauntingly beautiful instrumental passages found amidst a dark, somber pool of crushing rhythms, pain-soaked vocals, and passionate, heartfelt lyrics. Ignoring 3. % complete, this is probably the album I like least of the MDB catalog.
This is the last album to feature Rick Miah on drums and Martin Powell on keyboards and violins. Like its predecessor The Angel and the Dark River this album has completely clean vocals. A video was filmed for "For You" and appears on the VHS and DVD of For Darkest Eyes. The track "A Kiss To Remember" has become a regular in the band's live setlist. Like Gods of the Sun is an album by My Dying Bride released in 1996. This is the last album to feature Rick Miah on drums and Martin Powell on keyboards and violins.
Like the so many pioneers My Dying Bride predictably and needlessly headed down the road to mediocrity when they released their fourth album. Who's to say why the Brides took it upon themselves to make straight up, no frills doom metal, devoid of their death metal roots, but they did with 'Like Gods of the Sun'. This album seems hurried, unpolished, lacking ideas or inspiration, and falls short on the performance front too. 'Like Gods of the Sun' isn't worthless ('For You' and 'A Kiss to Remember' are certainly worth bothering with) and in fact sounds like the most typical Bride album of all; however, that might just be its downfall - Bride have only ever been good when they are doing the unexpected. It's Just One Kiss That's All I Need" - 95%.
