Blues And Loose - № 1 download mp3 album

Loose Blues is an album by jazz pianist Bill Evans released on the Milestone label, featuring performances by Evans with Zoot Sims, Jim Hall, Ron Carter, and Philly Joe Jones, recorded in 1962. Loose Blues was recorded for the Riverside label, but eventually dropped mostly because of Riverside's forthcoming bankruptcy and the pressures of Verve producer Creed Taylor – who wanted Evans on his Verve label.
The first rock ’n’ roll records were a kind of hopped-up blues, and the same is usually true of the best rock ’n’ roll records today. Whether it was young white kids such as Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis following the example of Howlin’ Wolf and Ike Turner at Sun Records in Memphis or young black kids like Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley following the example of Wolf and Muddy Waters at Chess Records in Chicago, rock ’n’ roll worked best when it combined the working-class fundamentals. On this album, she fleshes out the possibilities of songs by Mary Gauthier, John Prine, Oliver Wood and Kevin Gordon. This is the best of both worlds: terrific literary songwriting coupled with a tradition older than any college curriculum. There’s a giddiness to this album, an exuberant sense of humor that comes from the ultimate freedom: the cutting loose from all worries and constraints.

Loose Blues was recorded for the Riverside label, but eventually dropped mostly because of Riverside forthcoming bankruptcy and the pressures of Verve producer Creed Taylor - he wanted Evans on his Verve label. So the project was shelved, and released posthumously only in 1982 as MCD-9200-2, after having been rediscovered in the Fantasy Records vaults. This was, in fact, believed to be a lost album since Keepnews couldn't find the master reels of the session dates, except for a take of "Loose Bloose"
