Meantime is the second studio album and major label debut by American alternative metal band Helmet, released on June 23, 1992 through Interscope Records. Despite initially only achieving moderate commercial success, peaking at number 68 on the Billboard 200 chart upon release in 1992, the album influenced multiple bands in its wake, and has been well received by music critics and is considered an influential album of the metal genre.

Pianist/composer Frank Kimbrough has been active on New York’s jazz scene for twenty-five years. He was a founding member and e of the Jazz Composers Collective (1992 - 2005). Frank has released over a dozen recordings as a leader, and has appeared on nearly forty more as a sideman. He has toured extensively, with appearances in the US, Canada, Brazil, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and China.

Chant is a relaxed yet inspired trio date featuring pianist Frank Kimbrough with two of his closest associates from the Jazz Composers Collective: bassist Ben Allison and drummer Jeff Ballard. Along with brief, delightfully understated readings of Ornette Coleman's "Feet Music" and Jimmy Giuffre's "Phoenix," the trio wades through three collaborative improvisations.
