The third album from Ruff Ryders’ first lady showed some steady progression into further stardom. Already establishing herself with her excellent debut album, Let There Be Eve, and her equally dope follow-up Scorpion, this was just another indication of the appeal of Eve Jeffers. Aside from her in-house Ruff Ryders production team, she collabs with former mentor Dr. Dre behind the boards on What and the DOPE Satisfaction. Clearly, Ruff Ryders was still in the fox hunt among the best crews and labels in the game. 13. Drag-On - The Opposite Of H2O. One of the more underappreciated cats to come from this camp was a young Yonkers native known as Drag-On. Ruff Ryders Entertainment is a New York City-based record label and management company, specializing in hip-hop music. It was founded in 1988 by Chivon Dean and her brothers Dee and Waah. Ruff Ryders' founders were initially famous for managing rapper DMX, who became a multi-platinum star for Def Jam Records in the late-1990s.
The Ruff Ryders had always served as The Lox's managers and the group felt like the new label could better represent the hard-core sensibilities which they expressed in their rhymes. Bad Boy was known for its radio friendly dance hits and high priced videos, while the Lox were quickly establishing themselves as hardcore rap artists. The identities clashed - "We just needed to be with a rougher label," said Sheek Louch. A harder label that fit our image. The Best of Me. ""Day and Night". Jenny from the Block".
Thinking about all of their "ride or die" lyrics elicits images of motorcycles going at top speeds, a rebellious brotherhood, and a fiercely loyal crew. Most tees feature the rugged "R" logo and the name in autograph-style cursive underneath
