Comte De St.-Germain, Rudolph Gruen - The Music Of Comte De St.-Germain: A Performance Of L'Incostanza Delusa Suite download mp3 album
The Comte de Saint Germain (French pronunciation: ; born circa 1691 or 1712 – died 27 February 1784) was a European adventurer, with an interest in science, alchemy and the arts. He achieved prominence in European high society of the mid-1700s. Prince Charles of Hesse-Kassel considered him to be "one of the greatest philosophers who ever lived". St. Germain used a variety of names and titles, an accepted practice amongst royalty and nobility at the time.
The music of L’Inconstanza Delusa (1740) was composed in the formal and florid rococo style of the 18th century. The arias reputedly performed at the Paris Opera shortly after their composition. In setting this operatic work for the piano, composer and pianist Rudolph Gruen left the harmonies, rhythms, melodies and form just as St. Germain wrote them. The suite is presented in six movements

NotesSeems to be a different performance and recording of the same work than the cassette and 10" releases, but no information about this is included in the liner notes. An "A/B" comparison demonstrates occasional differences between the performances plus the microphone seems to be placed further away from the piano than the recordings on the cassette and 10" releases.
