In celebration of his 75 birthday, Sony Classical is releasing the first-ever complete collection of recordings by the incomparable guitarist, John Williams. The 58-CD plus DVD new box set features three different Williams recordings of that most popular of all guitar works, Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez plus a performance of its much loved Adagio from Williams’ celebrated.

John Thomas Williams (January 28, 1929 – December 2018) was an American jazz pianist. Williams was born in Windsor, Vermont on January 28, 1929. He began playing piano at age eight and joined a local ensemble at twelve; he also learned organ, playing in church as a teenager. In March 1945, he embarked on a six-month tour as a member of Mal Hallett's band, having not yet completed high school.

John Christopher Williams, OBE (born 24 April 1941) is an Australian virtuosic classical guitarist renowned for his ensemble playing as well as his interpretation and promotion of the modern classical guitar repertoire.

On May 4, Decca released John Williams: A Life In Music, a new album featuring new recordings of classic Williams scores performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, and including a world premiere recording of the Theme from Schindler’s List for cello. Recorded by an 86-piece orchestra, the collection was conducted by Gavin Greenaway at London’s Air Studios. The 10-track album features Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Time, performed by the LSO for the very first time.
