Charles Raymond "Charlie" Starkweather (November 24, 1938 – June 25, 1959) was an American spree killer, 19 years old when he killed eleven people in Nebraska and Wyoming between December 1957 and January 1958. He killed ten of them between January 21 and January 29, 1958, the date of his arrest. During his spree in 1958, Starkweather was accompanied by his 14-year-old girlfriend, Caril Ann Fugate.

material for the CD to make another album (we'd wanted WTSBH to be a double-CD but we didn't have the money to make such a beast). Neeler Peeler has today unveiled a site of his own design called Starkweather: The Missing Tapes. On this site, he pledges, "a series of never-before-heard mixes that will be released over the coming months" (he's a busy guy so cut him some slack). The first of the released mixes is "Can't Find My Mind", a cover of The Cramps tune off their Psychedelic Jungle album (probably my fave)  . The Starkweather Fix - Can't Find My Mind. I'd like to send this out to Dawn McLeod b/c it was always a song of ours she particularly liked. Band pic above is by Mark Laking. Posted by Pius at 02:36.

Liam Wilson has been the bass player for the band The Dillinger Escape Plan since the autumn of 2000 and is a former bass player of the bands Starkweather. Currently, he is a part of Azusa, a project formed with members of Extol and Sea + Air, as well as John Frum, which features a John Zorn collaborator and ex-member of The Faceless.

Starkweather pioneered an early form of metalcore, which incorporates elements of death metal, progressive metal, and alternative rock. While rooted in the hardcore genre, over the years they evolved to a darker, more experimental, and dissonant metal sound with unconventional song structures. They are also the first band of the genre to use both clean and harsh vocals.

Robert Colvert, working the night shift at the Burlington Northern train yards, was to be the first victim of Charlie Starkweather, the American spree killer who murdered 11 people in Nebraska and Wyoming together with his under-age girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate in the 1950’s. Starkweather returned to the Lincoln gas station a couple of times with a loaded shotgun in his trunk, then drove Colvert to an abandoned area where he was executed.

Starkweather biography STARKWEATHER was formed in 1989 by Todd FORKIN on guitar, Harry ROSA on drums, and Rennie RESMINI on vocals. The band occupies a unique position in the Metal history, with a very eclectic style combining Progressive Metal's narrative song development and Hardcore aggression. After a demo cassette release, STARKWEATHER debuted in 1991 with their album Crossbearer, an instant crossover classic with a far-reaching influence into today's Metalcore scene. After the second album Into The Wire from 1995, the band disappeared from the radar for 10 years. With the highly acclaimed 2006 release Croatoan, they resurfaced in the Metalcore scene that they helped to give shape during the 90s. Biography by Bonnek. STARKWEATHER Videos (YouTube and more).
