The War Within is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band Shadows Fall. The album has sold over 300,000 copies worldwide. The War Within is the band's best selling album, and in 2005 made sales history on Century Media Records when it became the labels best selling album of all time. To date, the album retains this status.
I think most of us can agree that they are one of the best things to happen to American metal in a long time. They breathe fresh air into a genre filled with countless generic ripoff bands, who all use the same chord progressions and sound like you could have 1 singer for every single band. Shadows Fall, on the other hand, does not. They have great musicians (something not often found in American metal), and write some creative stuff. Shadows Fall doesn’t deserve this. The highly-anticipated new SHADOWS FALL DVD, "The Art of Touring", is set for a November 15 release via Century Media. The disc effectively documents the rise of one of today's most influential and dominant metal bands. Brian Fair (vocals) describes what the DVD release means to him and how the band strived to create something special for their fans that would stand out from the pack: "This DVD will give viewers a quick look into the madness that is SHADOWS FALL on the road
Sound - 6 I have been a Shadows Fall fan for a long time. The tones sound just like on the album, but it can sound muffled at times during the live portion, and sometimes the vocals don't stand out as much as they should. Content - 10 The DVD includes concert footage from the "Art Of Balance" tour, 3 covers, tour antics, and all 6 music videos. I was dissappointed that there was nothing from this years Ozzfest on the live segment. The covers were alright, but I think they should stick to their own material.

When I first got this I wasn't expecting a GREAT quality DVD, but not this crap. I don't know who to blame, the band or the label, but this should never have been released. First things first, the music: this is by far the worst sounding DVD I have ever seen or heard. The songs have not been mixed or mastered at all.
