An extended play record, often referred to as an EP, is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single, but is usually unqualified as an album or LP. Contemporary EPs generally contain a minimum of three tracks and maximum of six tracks, and are considered "less expensive and time-consuming" for an artist to produce than an album.
If The Lumes’ debut EP Lust found them looking in a reflection, their upcoming mini-LP Envy represents that reflection staring right back at them. Gone are the lush atmospherics that typified the Rotterdam-based trio’s sordid, pitch black protopunk. These days, The Lumes proudly flaunt their blemishes like the scribbles, cavities and cracks etched into a wall of granite. The shoegaze leanings that marked the group’s formative years have evaporated, and what’s left is a corrosive, claustrophobic terra firma where only misfits find respite and reprieve. Make no mistake, The Lumes wholly embrace.
Millions of Dead Cops is the debut studio album by the American hardcore punk band MDC. It was originally self-released in February 1982, being reissued/remixed through their own label R Radical with help from Alternative Tentacles later that year. Today it is considered a hardcore punk classic.
