Night Beat is the twelfth studio album by American singer Sam Cooke, released in August 1963 by RCA Victor. The album title originated from late-night recording sessions by Cooke and a quartet of studio musicians in February 1963. It has been featured in "best-of" lists by contemporary music critics and regarded as one of Cooke's best.

He has played an recorded with many artists including: T-Bone Walker, Bobby Bland, Little Junior Parker, Big Mama Thornton, Roy Milton, Chuck Willis, Ray Charles' band, Everly Brothers, Bobby Darin, Stevie Wonder and others. He co-composed the song "No Use Crying" which has been recorded by George Jones (2) and Ray Charles. Brother of the saxophone player Grady Gaines.
