The Comes was a Japanese hardcore punk band formed in Tokyo, Japan in 1982. They were one of the first Japanese hardcore bands alongside GISM, Gauze (band) and Lip Cream. The Comes were fronted by female vocalist Chitose, who went to sing in the metal band Virgin Rocks. Chitose was the first vocalist of female-fronted hardcore punk bands to gain fame. Matsumura played drums before moving on to future bands such as Gastunk. Minoru Ogawa performed in The Comes as well as the band Lip Cream.

The August 27, 1982 set - at the Arena in Frejus - finds Adrian Belew (guitar/vocals), Bill Bruford (drums/percussion), Robert Fripp (guitar) and Tony Levin (bass/Stick) during a European excursion as the opening act for Roxy Music, hence the somewhat abbreviated program. With the notable exception of "Larks' Tongues in Aspic (Part II)," the vast majority of the show is derived from their concurrent effort Beat (1982) and its predecessor Discipline (1981).
