The Greatest Rock 'n Roll Band in the World" .
U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin, formed in 1976. The group consists of Bono (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), the Edge (lead guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums and percussion). Initially rooted in post-punk, U2's musical style has evolved throughout their career, yet has maintained an anthemic quality built on Bono's expressive vocals and the Edge's effects-based guitar textures.
Some bands are disqualified from greatest band of all-time status because they weren't around long enough. U2 formed in 1976 and released their first album in 1980. How's that for longevity? Also, from their first recording onward, the band has kept the same lineup: Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen, Jr. Critical Success. U2 doesn't have just one, they have several critically acclaimed albums: Achtung Baby, All That You Can't Leave Behind, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, No Line on the Horizon, The Unforgettable Fire, War, and Zooropa

Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the Canadian-American rock group The Band. The album was released in conjunction with remastered versions of the group's first four albums. It draws very heavily from these records, with thirteen of the eighteen tracks selected from Music from Big Pink, The Band, Stage Fright and Cahoots. All tracks composed by Robbie Robertson unless otherwise noted. John Simon - producer (tracks 1-8). The Band - producers (tracks 9-18).

The Band is the second studio album by the Band, released on September 22, 1969. It is also known as The Brown Album. According to Rob Bowman's liner notes for the 2000 reissue, The Band has been viewed as a concept album, with the songs focusing on people, places and traditions associated with an older version of Americana.
If not the greatest band of that era. The 4 albums during that era are elite from start to finish. They had some of the best musicians that have ever graced this earth. 7 U2 U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin. Formed in 1976, the group consists of Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. U2's early sound was rooted in post-punk but eventually grew to incorporate influences from many genres of popular music. Throughout the group's musical pursuits, they have. They are one of the best band from the 80's, and I feel like I should mentioned that they are one of the few bands that are still very active and alive from that time, glad that they are still making good music. Best band ever full stop.

The Blades the band referenced by Bono on I Will Follow, Where their main rivals in Dublin prior to both of them signing to record labels. They were the biggest bands in Dublin at the time U2 being a Northside band and The Blades being a Southside one. Dublin had and still does have a big Northside/Southside rivalry. Both Bands played a six week residency together at The Baggot Inn In 1979 Dublin. https://www.localhost/artist/1038567-The-Blades
