The Great Shakes sound like a three legged horse treading very carefully along a narrow footpath, made of nothing but love. On hiatus since 2011. Released 2 singles and an album, some of which is archived here soundcloud. November 30, 2011 ·. So, we might get together and do something in 2012.

But the most important music to me was those hip-shakin’ boys: Wilson Pickett and Elvis Presley. I just loved Elvis Presley. His follow-up album, Al Green Gets Next to You (1971), featured the hit R&B cover of the Temptations' "I Can't Get Next to You", recorded in a slow blues-oriented version Green in an appearance on The Mike Douglas Show in 1973.
