Humble Pie is the third album released by English rock group Humble Pie in 1970, and their first with A&M Records. Humble Pie was a transitional album and a harbinger of the band's new, heavier direction.

Humble Pie was an English rock band formed by Steve Marriott in Essex during 1969. They are known as one of the late 1960s' first supergroups and found success on both sides of the Atlantic with such songs as "Black Coffee", "30 Days in the Hole", "I Don't Need No Doctor" and "Natural Born Bugie".

Paul from Wilton, Ct'Natural Born Bugie' (Natural Born Woman). Released in mid-August 1969. The band regretted not getting this song on their 'debut' album, as it was Humble Pie's most recognized song in 1969. The song sounded like a 'James Gang' song, with catchy riffs and a consistent mid-tempo beat. While Humble Pie was being labeled as a future hard rock 'Supergroup', this song leaned more towards a slower beat 'Country Rock' tempo than a 'faster speed' British hard rock song. Paul from Wilton, CtNatural Born Bugie (Natural Born Boogie).

The album starts off with their single "Natural Born Bugie", which hit in the . great blues-rock number, too bad America never gave this one spin, classic rock radio of today have missed out on some great tracks from the 60's and 70's. The b-side is "Wrist Job, I think you know what this means?! excellent rockin' number. Their first album "As Safe As Yesterday Is", is pure magic, sounding like vintage Small Faces, but with more blues and country-boogie influences with slight psychedelia  . I think a lot of Humble Pie fans and people that enjoy late 60's and early 70's rock music, should get a copy of these recordings. 2 people found this helpful.

Humble Pie debuted ‘Natural Born Bugie’ on the BBC in early August along with, ‘Desperation’, ‘The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake’ and ‘Heartbeat’. Of these four tracks only ‘Desperation’, written by Steppenwolf’s John Kay, appeared on their debut album, As Safe As Yesterday Is that came out later in August. Natural Born Bugie’ was a single release and the other two tracks were held over until their follow up, Town and Country album that was released in November 1969. Natural Born Bugie’ made N. on the UK charts, a excellent start for their first single

Humble Pie would later sink into heavy, obvious grandiosity, shooting for the cheap seats (and succeeding) in American stadiums, but the band's initial albums were fascinating amalgams of rustic folk, blues, and heavy rock with a slight progressive tinge, all underpinned by an earnest student's love for a form he doesn't quite intuitively understand.
