With this album, Carach Angren has shown that, while there's no place like it, you definitely cannot go back home. Two steps forward, one step back - 89%. cowman54, February 27th, 2015. So needless to say, I was extremely excited when they announced that their fourth album, This Is No Fairytale, would be arriving from Season Of Mist on February 23rd. I had loved all three singles leading up to the release (There’s No Place Like Home, Killed And Served By The Devil, and Two Flies Flew Into A Black Sugar Cobweb), and had been obsessively listening to all three prior to the release of the album.

This is No FairyTale by Carach Angren, released 24 February 2015 1. Once Upon A Time 2. There's No Place Like Home 3. When Crows Tick on Windows 4. Two Flies Flew into a Black Sugar Cobweb 5. Dreaming of a Nightmare in Eden 6. Possessed by a Craft of Witchery 7. Killed and Served by the Devil 8. The Witch Perished in Flames 9. Tragedy Ever After Extreme metal conjurers CARACH ANGREN unleash their bold new album 'This Is No Fairy Tale'. The album is a pitch black story of isolation, degradation, and abuse whose narrative is as intense as the music that delivers it. The acclaimed. Includes unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

This Is No Fairytale is the fourth studio album by the Dutch symphonic black metal band Carach Angren. It was released on February 23, 2015 via Season of Mist. The witch's hand on the cover art of the album is actually the hand of Dennis "Seregor" Droomers' grandmother.

Around the mid-point of the album, Carach Angren make a return to their classic formula with Dreaming Of A Nightmare In Eden. This little number has the distinct feeling of an interlude, and the line nibble nibble naw, is it a mouse nibbling at my little house? perfectly describes how the track opens. While becoming more frenzied and drenched in danger, the song has more gradation than the earlier ones, providing a nice reprieve for everyone except Hansel, who’s informed that his lifeless flesh will be eaten while still warm. While This Is No Fairytale is consistently Carach Angren and it’s a good fit for their discography, I’d be much more inclined to return to Death Came Through A Phantom Ship and Where the Corpses Sink Forever before this one. The fairytale is packed to the hilt with horrific narration that has me excited to read the entirety of the story, but the lack of subtleties and reprieves from the hammering makes me inclined to push it backwards in my playlist.

CARACH ANGREN will be playing in support of their latest release 'Dance and Laugh amongst the Rotten'. The Dutch masters of horror are back with their most flamboyant album so far. On ‘Dance and Laugh amongst the Rotten’, CARACH ANGREN are painting musical pictures that easily combine the grandiose depth of a Rembrandt with Van Gogh's maelstrom of whirling colours and the utter madness of Bosch. While firmly remaining in the horror genre, their tales revolve around the evils of war. This mature streak was taken a step further with the fourth full-length 'This Is No Fairytale', which is on the surface a darker variation of the "Hansel and Gretel" story from the Brothers Grimm collection, but also deals with the too real topic of child abuse in a dysfunctional family. With ‘Dance and Laugh amongst the Rotten’, CARACH ANGREN are returning to "pure" storytelling with episodes that are centered on a girl playing a little too long with her Ouija board.

Album This Is No Fairytale. Tragedy Ever After Lyrics. She opens her eyes Her face is covered in blood She appears to be surrounded by twisted trees In this abysmal dream. Finally she stumbles on this trail Made of candy Like a hungry bird feeding on crumbs of bread Consuming them one by one She hopes this is the trail of delicacies leads towards A better place ahead But no, it lead her further and further into darkness It reeks on burning flesh Then the trail suddenly ends. A stifling feeling when his charred hands take hold to her.
