Fischerspooner - Entertainment download mp3 album
Entertainment is the third studio album by electroclash duo and performance troupe Fischerspooner, released on May 5, 2009 in the United States, and on May 4 around the world. On April 19, 2009 a teaser for this album appeared on YouTube. Written over a two-year period with producer Jeff Saltzman (The Killers, The Sounds) and recorded independently in a carriage house in Brooklyn with an intimate circle of artists working on the band's live show as Ian Pai, Ben Bromley and Sam Kearney.
This New York-based art project made its mark during the first wave of electroclash and now returns with its first full-length album in four years. It's been nine years since Larry Tee, the man who coined the term "electroclash," put on the first Electroclash festival. Rather than looking at how that scene died, it's interesting to see how many of those festival headliners- Fisherspooner, Peaches, Ladytron, Scissor Sisters- survived.

Hitting play on a Fischerspooner album and turning up the volume can transform your calm home into a dance party for one, but that seems disingenuous to the group’s intentions. On the one hand, this is an act that prides itself on being equal parts musician and performance artists, so you’re not getting the full experience without an accompanying visual component (. the theatrical live show). Danse en France, for example, is one of Entertainment‘s strongest moments because it’s Fischer and Spooner exhibiting their knowledge of the genre and still putting their own stamp on it.
Fischerspooner's woozy, percolating keyboard riffs and stylized camp theatrics were considerably more striking in 2001, when the group first emerged, than they are at the tail-end of a decade that's long since done the '80s-resuscitating synth-wave thing to death. Fischerspooner have been largely disregarded since the beleaguered electro-clash beachhead of their debut, despite (or perhaps because of) an entirely respectable sophomore effort, Odyssey, in 2005.
