Ro Sham Bo is the first and only studio album by The Grays, released on February 22, 1994 by Epic Records. The album was supported with a single and music video for the song, Very Best Years, alongside promotional singles for Same Thing and Not Long for This World. According to Jason Falkner, Jon Brion initially got into contact with him after listening to a mixtape of the album Odessey and Oracle by the Zombies he had compiled for his then-girlfriend
Ro Sham Bo was an interesting experiment, and it remains one of the curious, off-the-path milestones of '90s pop. Four accomplished musicians disillusioned with being in rock bands formed the Grays based on utopian ideals: all members contributing songs, recording together and fleshing out each other's ideas, and playing each other's instruments when it fit certain songs, so no one was the true "leader.

Listen free to The Grays – Ro Sham Bo (Very Best Years, Everybody's World and more). Before Jon Brion went off to produce and write movie soundtracks and after Jason Falkner decided Jellyfish was a bad career move, The Grays formed like breath on a window pane. After hearing their first and only effort before going off to do their own things, one wonders what great things we'd have heard if great talents and egos could but get along. Ro Sham Bo by The Grays is one of those. The Grays released their first and only album Ro Sham Bo in 1994. The album has a classic rock sound, with polished guitars, incredible production value, and what feels like a cross between The Eagles and The Beatles. The band consisted of Jason Falkner (vocals, guitars, bass, keyboard), Jon Brion (vocals, guitars, bass, keyboard), Buddy Judge (vocals and guitars), and Dan McCarroll (drums). And despite it being the only album they ever released, it has been critically applauded for years

Okay It started a long time ago When I was a little boy Sometimes A little one don't do what he's told And mother puts back his toy. Yes there is something you can do my love Won't you help me through these troubled times And serve to remind That everything is gonna be alright Despite my fighting bitter tears These are the very best years. These days Father's not the man that we knew And you know we get so low That's when You find me alone with my will And my wine, and these scars that show.
